Yeezy is going back to retail. For the first time since the adidas split, a major sneaker chain is set to stock Ye’s footwear: JD Sports listed the Yeezy YS-01 Slides on its release calendar for August 13, 2026, at $44, online and in stores across the United States.
As your resident Yeezy nerd at yeezyfan.com, I have gone through every report published since the news broke, and there is a twist that landed less than 24 hours later. Here is the full picture.
Yeezy YS-01 x JD Sports: the key facts

Why the JD Sports deal matters so much
Since adidas ended the partnership, Yeezy footwear has only been available in two places: the resale market, and Ye’s own direct-to-consumer store. No major retailer has touched the brand. That is exactly why this listing made noise.
JD Sports is one of the biggest sneaker chains on the planet, with close to 5,000 stores across 49 countries. Several outlets also report that JD is set to become the exclusive retail partner for Yeezy footwear, which would open the door to more models, and potentially apparel, landing in stores later on.
There is a legal reason the slides are the model that made it back to retail first. adidas kept the rights to the sneakers created during the partnership, the 350, the 700, the Foam Runner, but Ye owns the design patent tied to the original Yeezy Slide. The YS-01 is therefore one of the few silhouettes he can keep producing and selling on his own.
Update: the YS-01 disappeared from JD’s release calendar
On July 27, 2026, the YS-01 Slide appeared on the JD Sports sneaker release calendar with an August 13 date and a $44 price. On July 28, Cassius Life reported that the entry had quietly vanished from that calendar, with no statement from JD Sports and none from Yeezy.
Two readings are possible. Either the page was pulled while the drop details get finalized, which happens constantly with release calendars, or JD is reconsidering after the backlash that has followed Ye since 2022. Until one of the two brands says something publicly, treat August 13 as listed, not confirmed. I will update this post the moment the entry comes back or an official statement lands.
$20, then $40, now $44: the YS-01 price ladder
The YS-01 launched at $20, which is what made it go viral in the first place. Ye then moved it to $40 on yeezy.com, a change I covered in detail in Yeezy Slides YS-01 price increase to $40. The JD Sports listing sat at $44.

That $4 gap over the Yeezy site is the retail margin, and honestly it is small enough to be irrelevant compared to what you get in exchange: a store you can walk into, a normal return policy, and shipping that does not take months.
YS-01 vs adidas Yeezy Slides: what you are actually buying
Almost nothing separates the two. Same molded foam, same shape, same underfoot feel, with the adidas branding removed. Owners who have had both pairs report near identical comfort, and the sizing is the same as the old adidas pairs, so if you already own a pair you can usually keep your size. Which colorways could drop at JD Sports?
JD Sports has not confirmed a single colorway. What we do know is the lineup Ye has released on yeezy.com so far, and any retail launch will almost certainly pull from it:
- YS-01 Black, the safest bet for a first retail drop
- YS-01 Chocolate
- YS-01 Blue
- YS-01 Grey
- YS-01 Cream
- YS-01 Fudge and the Tan and Brown tones
- YS-01 White

YS-01 sizing: sort it out before you walk into JD
Foam slides are unforgiving if you get the size wrong, and buying in store means you can try them on, which is a real advantage over ordering online. Here is the short version:
- If you have wide feet, consider going up one size
- If you have average or narrow feet and like a snug fit, stay true to size
- If you already own adidas Yeezy Slides, keep the same size, the fit is the same
- If you are between sizes, size up, foam does not stretch

The single biggest complaint about ordering from yeezy.com is not the product, it is the wait. Plenty of buyers get their pairs in a reasonable window, others have reported waiting weeks, and in the worst cases months. A retail partner fixes that: you pay $4 more, you walk out with the box.
- Wait for JD Sports if you want to try the size on, want a normal return window, or want the pair in your hands the same day
- Order from yeezy.com if you want a specific colorway now and you are fine with unpredictable shipping
- Check the resale market if you want a sold out colorway, or you want a deal on a lightly worn pair
