If you’ve been scrolling through the yeezy.com shop or checking out your order tracking for the new YS-01, you’ve probably asked yourself: “Am I getting the same quality as my old Adidas pairs?” There’s a lot of noise online, but as your resident expert at yeezyfan.com, I’m here to tell you the truth: There is almost no difference.

Both models utilize a lightweight, high-grade injected EVA foam that provides that signature “walking on clouds” sensation. Whether you are wearing an OG Adidas pair or a fresh YS-01 drop from 2026, the durability seems to be identical. The Yeezy YS-01 came out several months ago and I didn’t see anyone saying that the YS-01 were not durable at this point. They won’t bottom out any faster, and the material remains resistant to daily wear. If you liked the “squish” of the Adidas version, you’ll feel right at home with these.

Yeezy YS-01 Slides vs Adidas Slides: The Real Difference Is the Price, $40 vs $70

When Ye first launched the independent YS-01 Slides, he shook the industry with a crazy $20 price tag. It was a statement for the new Yeezy era, proving he could produce high-quality footwear without the massive corporate markup. However, as we’ve seen in our latest post, the slides have recently seen a price hike to $40. For those who copped the YS-01 slides at $20, it was an absolute steal at that price!

Even at $40, they are still significantly cheaper than the $70+ retail price (and much higher resell prices which start at more than $100 !) we saw during the Adidas partnership. You’re getting the same high-quality slide, just at a much more “Ye-approved” price point for the masses.

The classic Adidas colors like Bone and Onyx have been retired. In their place, yeezy.com has introduced a whole new set of tones. Even though they don’t have any official names on the product pages, the names do appear on the confirmation/shipping email notification, the Silver Green color is now named Cream.

While the vibes are similar, the new shades are unique to the independent brand. For instance, you can really tell the difference in the finish, the Adidas Yeezy Slides in “Onyx” lean more towards a lighter, charcoal grey-black, whereas the new YS-01 is a true, deep ‘triple black’ that’s way darker and more intense.

Basically, the YS-01 sizing is the same as the old Adidas pairs. If you already own Adidas Yeezy Slides, you can usually keep the same size.

But here’s the trick: if you have wide feet, you should definitely size up. The new YS-01 feels a bit “snugger” at first.
